True Vine Baptist Church was founded in June, 1993.  It began as a home church, started from scratch, with the church services being held in the living room, with an ironing board as the pulpit. 

The reason for starting an Independent Bible Believing Baptist Church was the lack of sound, doctrinal, Bible preaching & teaching churches in or near Portland.

Our Pastor, Richard D.S. Glen, answered the call to preach while stationed in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He was serving in the Navy, and attending a local Independent Bible Believing Church, in Norfolk, with the name of True Vine Baptist.

While serving as associate Pastor at True Vine in Norfolk God directed Brother Glen through the Word, prayer, circumstances & finally the peace of God to move to Portland, Oregon to start a church there.

In 1997, after 4 years of having services in the home church, we moved to a store front location, where True Vine Baptist is currently located.  The church family is currently praying about finding a church building in the Portland area to purchase.
